We got a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertable and when the car is running the heater goes from hot to cold, it like switches back and fourth. So can someone please tell us what the problem could be? Would greatly appriciate your honest answer thank you.

Two possibilities, the least expensive is the coolant is low in the radiator, the most expensive you have a head gasket problem, you are getting exhaust gasses in the cooling system this will cause an are bubble to form under the thermostat which impedes water circulation, when this happens the temp Gauge will read low also. But try the first Solution check the coolant level. There is away to check the second only use extreme caution,Loosen the rad cap to FIRST notch start the engine and let it run until it gets hot see if the heater stays hot DO NOT DIVE IT THIS WAY just let it idle in the driveway, and the last possibility is the heater core is plugged, all of this seems overwhelming take it to a shop that specializes in heating and air con, just tell them the heater does not work all the time sometimes blows cold air.Reason ,do not give them preconceived idea;s on what it could be Just keeps an Honest guy honest
